Pet Peeve: Dirty dishes . . .

I wouldn't say I'm very obsessive compulsive. Maybe a little, but not very. However, I've just discovered that one of my pet peeves is dirty dishes. Not just regular dirty dishes, but dirty dishes that are not rinsed off and stacked neatly. (This is is a level of my "little" OCD-ness.) The following is how I rate my stages of dirty/clean dishes and corresponding feelings: dirty dishes = totally gross, can't go to sleep without doing something about it. Dirty dishes that are rinsed and stacked neatly = not so gross, looks and smells nicer, I can sleep at night but must wash in the morning. Clean dishes in the drainer = a happy Rachel. Clean dishes, put away = ideal. I hope I'm not scaring you. I have found others that are like me--I found a picture online with a sub line, "Sometimes stacking the dirty dishes neatly is the best you can do. (haha)". It's true, especially with a new baby. I just thought I would share this unusual fetish-pet peeve so that I could get it off my chest. Phew. Feels better. Do you have a unique pet peeve or fetish?

i don't think disliking dirty dishes means you are OCD. if that's the only criteria than i must have severe OCD. i can't stand dirty dishes either. I also can't stand clothes all over our bedroom floor. Each year we are married zac just gets better and better. you'll probably hear him say a happy wife means a happy life. he's pretty sweet.

It's because you are a chronic straightener like me! Trust me, kids break any OCD-ness you might carry. Or in extreme cases, it just gets worse. For me, I've gotten better.

Haha. I guess in my opinion the OCD part has to do with how the dishes have to be stalked to be considered neat.
