Happy Anniversary!

Today, 3 years ago, the fox and the ewe were wed. It was a great day. The greatest in our lives.
We can say that now that the blessed day is over.

Just moments after we were married and sealed (for time and all eternity!) I turned to Todd and said, "This is the best day of my life." When he didn't respond I asked him if it was his and he said, "I don't know," and with a confused look on my face he responded, "the day's not over yet." I thought it was pretty funny and realized then, if I hadn't already in the temple (maybe I'll tell you the story about "the wall" later), that my new husband is a very literal guy.
I guess even though what happened on that day was the best thing to ever happen to us, to him the day might not have been the best of his life.
Don't worry, I wasn't hurt; wedding days are LONG and are more for the bride anyway, right? He now assures me, though, that yes, the day we were married was the best day of his life. Thanks, honey. (Boy, I sure sound like a grilling wife, don't I?) Anyway . . .

To celebrate we went to . . . Chicago!
WITHOUT Henry.
It was just us for a full 32 hours. It was wonderful. We had lots of fun.
(But, honestly, I really, really missed Henry. It's funny: As a mom I crave alone time sometimes, but when I'm without my buddy I miss him so much!)

Here are some pics of our trip:

The Bean

Navy Pier and view from the Ferris Wheel

Our hotel

Dinner at Hard Rock Cafe

Footage of the filming of Transformers 3. Everyone gawked at it and took pictures, but we didn't see any action. Just covered cars, busted cars, and a transformer statue--kinda lame.

We also saw Inception, which was mind boggling and totally cool.

We had great friends, the Wheelers and the Burtons, watch Henry and we felt totally confident that Henry would be well taken care of, and that made our time away totally carefree. Thanks, guys.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Todd!! You're the best.

Happy Anniversary! Chicago sure looks like fun! I like your explanation of the best thing that happened to us, but not necessarily the best day...there's a lot of hustle and bustle and talking to people you've never met and probably won't ever see again. :)

Very cool! I do the same thing when I'm away from my kids; I'll wait all day for bedtime and then when they've been asleep for an hour I'll feel tempted to go wake them up to be with them.

Glad you guys got some special time together! Hooray!
