Todd's Birthday

This year Todd turned the big 3.1.
We started the day off right with McDonald's, and Todd opened presents.
It was killing the boys to let unopened presents sit.

Then I did some Winfield business and Todd went to work (boo!).
The children and I anxiously awaited his return.

When he walked in the door the boys ran to the door yelling "Daddy, daddy, daddy!", like they always do and we gave him big hugs.
Out of all of the wonderful, happy moments in the day, this has got to be the happiest (and often the most relief-est for me). And, the reason is obvious.

Todd is simply the best.

He works hard to provide for us everyday.
He teaches us interesting things.
He plays with us.
He makes us laugh.
He prays with us.
He reads the scriptures with us.
He reads other fun books, Comics, and makes up stories for us.
He plays ___________ monster (whatever the day calls for, e.g. sand monster, tickle monster, pizza monster, etc.) and chases the boys around.
He comforts.
He wakes up early to be with the boys.
He makes big bubbles for us.
He sings to us.
He plays games with us.
He listens (when I haven't talked TOO much already).
He does anything I ask him to.
He works with us around the house.
He makes me clothing.
He makes fabulous Indian food, breakfast foods, and all sorts of desserts.
He dances with us.
He shares.
Did I mention he's handsome?

Oh, these are all the things that he DOES that I love and appreciate, but have I mentioned who he IS yet?
You can probably guess from the above list the kind of qualities he possesses. He is so many things, but the three that come to my mind first are:

He is kind.
He is creative.
He is selfless.

I love celebrating his birthday because it makes me feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have him. I am so glad I can spend the rest of my life and eternity with
Todd.

For dinner we enjoyed buffalo chicken pizza with red onions and bell peppers, salad, and rootbeer.
It was delicious.
For dessert we had peanut butter and chocolate cookies with peanut butter fudge ice cream.
I can't remember if we played games or watched a movie after . . . Todd'll have to remind me. Oh yeah, did I mention he also serves as my memory?

Todd, you're simply the best. Happy Birthday!

This post was a perfect way to celebrate your awesome guy! Jeff and I agree that listing the many things he DOES was a great way to say how amazing he IS. I love how we can tell how much you appreciate him through your words.

Jeff's birthday is just around the corner... I'll be taking some tips on how to make my birthday boy feel special ;)

Happy birthday, Todd! I love seeing pictures of your cute family! Benjamin says: "Hey, Spiderman shirt! I've seen that shirt on Henry before!" and "So, was Todd's birthday yesterday or today?"
