Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Teenage. Mutant. Ninja. Turtles!

I can't remember Henry's first exposure to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (maybe it was my neighbor's Mardi Gra's night where they had face masks and someone said he looked like a Ninja Turtle and that sparked his curiosity?), but whatever it was, ever since Todd told Henry that he watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles every morning before school in 8th grade, Henry's been fascinated. He knows their colors, names, weapons, how they move, and who the villains are.

Henry and his bestest best friend, Benjamin, play 

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles every day. They pretend that I'm April so it makes picture taking a piece of cake. I knew nothing about the Turtles before now, but I've now learned that April helps them out in solving crimes, so "it's okay if I'm taking pictures of them cause I'm April".

They're wild, they are

I love the next two pictures. They're sharpening their swords. Henry's are wood swords that Todd made for him two weeks ago, and Benjamins are Henry's action figure swords. Benjamin was totally content with them despite their size. To him size made no difference in what they could do. 

 The boys were so fun to watch.

At this point in their play they were "fighting bad guys" and were getting attacked by snakes. Benjamin had been captured by bad guys and Henry freed him, then Henry got all wrapped up by snakes (like ropes) and Benjamin cut them away, freeing him.

Then they were on to the next battle . . .

Benjamin will be moving away in the next few months. I don't know how to prepare Henry for a crushed heart! These boys are inseparable--such good friends--two peas in a pod. We will sure miss Benjamin and his family.We love them!!
